Ah, yes, and I do that as well - I put the bag usually on the back seat
or on the passenger seat, but if I've got it with me, I won't stop to
pick things up at the store unless I stop at home first and drop it off.
I usually have a 1 TB external drive with me as well for work. I'm
generally not concerned about the laptop so much as the data on it - I
have source code as well as source files for training materials, not
stuff we want "in the wild."
